B+LNZ has an exciting opportunity for an aspiring leader in the agriculture sector to join B+LNZ’s Board as an Associate Director. This is a one-year term commencing in April 2019. 

The purpose of our Associate Director role is to provide aspiring leaders in the sector with leadership and governance experience. We believe it is our role to develop and nurture the next generation of industry leaders and create opportunities for future leaders to build their skills and positively influence our country’s future. Specifically, we want to extend your knowledge and understanding of governance; the social, corporate and legal environment that it operates in; the role of the Board and Director’s responsibilities; and offer a you a unique opportunity to develop your leadership skills by experiencing governance-in-action. 

As our Associate Director, you are a farmer who is strongly committed to furthering the farming sector, are a credible and respected leader (or future leader!) in the community, have the highest levels of integrity, are collaborative in nature, possess sound judgment, and are innovative and strategic in your thinking. We are looking for someone who can bring a different perspective, and diversity of thought to our boardroom. You don’t have to be actively engaged with B+LNZ right now as the panel will also be looking for attitude, potential and passion.

The commitment required will be on average two days per month. Board meetings are held every 6 weeks, mostly based in Wellington. This position is unpaid however all related expenses will be covered.
